Nature documentaries have always fascinated me, and as a child I remember watching Discovery Channel documentaries about the epic migration of monarch butterflies along the coast of California. The sanctuary at Natural Bridges State Park in Santa Cruz is one of my favorite spots—the scent of the air is amazing, the sound of the breeze through the trees with the ocean in the background. This photo doesn’t give justice to the magic of this experience.
