"Panting"
One day I woke and declared that I wanted to have a miracle-filled day. I set out on a hike with the intention of photographing an eagle.
Seemingly moments later, I had captured several amazing shots of a bald eagle pair. I witnessed what was (and still is) the single most beautiful great blue heron scene ever. A coopers hawk posed for me to take its portrait.
As I was walking the final stretch towards my car, I was looking down at photos on my camera when I heard panting in my left ear as clear as day. I was on a popular dog-walking path and quickly stepped aside expecting someone to pass. After a few seconds, I looked up to find no one around me.
When I looked back over my shoulder, this hawk was glaring down at me. I had walked directly beneath it, but it had been completely blocked from view from the direction I had walked. We locked eyes for a while before it turned and flew away.
